According to Branigan, “MacCullin’s Well is located in the back garden of the Barrack House on Barrack land in the village of Lusk” (Branigan 2012:40). The well “has been rebuilt in the form of a wishing well” (Branigan 2012:40).

The well is said to cure disorders of the eyes.

“Local legend holds that the saint jumped from the top of the nearby Round Tower to the well, and left the impressions of his knees on a stone in the well. This stone, likely a bullaun, is no longer present, and was last seen in the 1940’s” (Branigan 2012:40).

The well “is located on the coast at the end of Bawn Road in Rush…The spring is located high in a bank thickly covered with brambles and flows down in a small creek…onto the rocks into the sea” (Branigan 2012:49).

“It is well known locally as a place where fisherman gathered to mend their fishing nets, and local tradition holds that anybody who drinks of the water will eventually come to live in Rush, or if a girl drinks the water she will be married within the year” (Branigan 2012:49).
