Branigan notes that the well’s “location was not generally known” but provides coordinates. He notes that one “author has identified only one well marked on the 1837 map in this townland, presently just [near] Ratoath Road in Finglas West, and suggests that this site is the most likely candidate for the well. Unfortunately, just before the author visited the site of the well the area was … it is now a public park…a manhole cover now occupies the site of the well” (Branigan 2012: 66).
