“A lone hawthorn on the south bank of the Santry river opposite St John’s Church of Ireland in Coolock marks the site of St Brendan’s Well” (Branigan 2012: 65).
“During a fever epidemic in the area in 1914, it was believed the well was not helping matters so it was closed up but soon afterwards sprang up through the kitchen floor of a […] house. It was then reopened and piped for future use of the same house, which is now gone” (Branigan 2012: 66).
