According to Branigan, the well is “known locally by its Irish form and also as ‘Cruck o’ the Neale’, Limekiln Well was located close to an elevation known as Limekiln Hill to the north of the now destroyed Balrothery Village in Tallaght. St Patrick’s Well at St Patrick’s Cathedral was said to have been fed by the spring from this well. The National Basketball Arena in Tymon Park now occupies the site of both the hill and the well” (Branigan 2012: 97).
