The well is just outside a stone circle ráth and bubbles when the water table is high enough. The ráth which is 13 feet thick contains the possible remains of a miniature cromlech, an ogham stone, an earthen mound, a primitive stone altar, the ruins of a 19th-century cottage, and a modern statue of “Our Lady of the Wayside.”

5 Pattern day

Originally used for Beltane there is still an annual mass and local gathering on May Day.

Clooties are left on the interior rock surrounds

7 Prayer rounds and stations

Rounds start around the outside of the Ráth three times then inside three times. Now runs from May 1st - 12th. Pagan cirlces have been adapted with Christian crucifix marks.
